Watch or point
From your current spot, notice …. Point only when the setting permits and your supervising adult has said it is safe; never ask a driver to look.
Open data · English + Traditional Chinese
A reusable taxonomy of 84 original observation targets and three flexible participation modes for common family-travel settings.
JSON preserves the nested taxonomy; CSV expands every scenario, target and participation-mode combination into one record.
Every prompt is optional, adult-supervised and restricted to a safely stationary or seated setting. The taxonomy contains no photo task, score, age band, ability level or completion tracking.
No name, age, destination, precise location, photo, itinerary or completion record is requested.
These are interchangeable ways to participate, never developmental or ability rankings.
From your current spot, notice …. Point only when the setting permits and your supervising adult has said it is safe; never ask a driver to look.
Notice …. Think of one colour, shape, sound or detail. Share only with a non-driving companion when the setting permits.
Use … as a prompt. Invent one kind question, route idea or tiny story alone or with a non-driving companion when permitted.
Safety boundary: Use these cards at home. Adults keep control of travel documents, medicine, keys and final packing decisions.
Safety boundary: Stay beside the supervising adult, keep paths and checkpoints clear, and follow airport and security staff. These cards never ask for photos.
Safety boundary: Use only while seated and when the crew permits it. Stop for safety briefings, instructions, turbulence or whenever the adult says to pause.
Safety boundary: Observe only from a correctly restrained passenger seat. The driver never reads, answers or operates these cards while driving.
Safety boundary: Follow the operator and supervising adult. Stay behind marked lines, use seats or handholds as directed, and never approach an edge for a card.
Safety boundary: Use a card only after the adult chooses a safe place to stop. The adult handles navigation, crossings, traffic and decisions about where to walk.
Safety boundary: Follow the venue's current rules. Do not touch or photograph anything unless it is clearly permitted, and choose watching or stopping at any time.
Safety boundary: Use only while safely stationary and when the adult permits it. Queue, ride, height, restraint and staff instructions always take priority.
Safety boundary: Stay where the adult and local rules allow. Observe wildlife from a safe distance; do not touch, collect or feed anything for a card.
Safety boundary: Keep room numbers, names and travel details off the cards. Respect other guests; the adult handles keys, exits and emergency information.
Safety boundary: Adults and restaurant staff handle allergies, food safety and movement. Do not photograph or approach other guests for a card.
Safety boundary: Observe from the seat or area chosen by the adult. Never approach a stranger for a card, and skip anything that could disturb the space.
These sources support selected safety boundaries. They do not endorse the dataset, and current local, venue, carrier, crew, ranger and supervising-adult instructions always take precedence.
Method: Original observation targets were manually curated for common family-travel settings, then reviewed for privacy and situational safety. Official references support the stated safety boundaries; they do not endorse this dataset.
This is a prompt taxonomy, not child-development guidance, a safety certification or a substitute for current local, venue, carrier, crew, ranger or supervising-adult instructions. Suitability depends on the actual setting and participant.
