How it works

  1. Every non-empty line is split at the first tab, spaced dash, comma, semicolon, colon or pipe. Anything after the separator becomes the back of the card.
  2. Direction can be front-to-back, back-to-front, or mixed, which randomises per card so you cannot coast on position.
  3. Cards you mark as not known go to the back of the queue and come round again in the same session — the honest minimum of spaced practice, done inside one sitting.
  4. CSV export writes quoted two-column rows, the format most flashcard apps import.

What it will never do

  • It is not a spaced-repetition scheduler. There is no multi-day interval algorithm and no progress carried between visits — nothing is stored.
  • It does not translate or generate cards for you. What you paste is what you study.
  • No account, no paywall on your own list, no upload.

Questions

What format should my list be in?

One card per line with a separator: a tab, a spaced dash, a comma, a semicolon, a colon or a pipe. Text after the first separator becomes the answer, so definitions containing commas still work if you use a dash or tab.

Does it remember my progress?

No, and it says so rather than pretending. Nothing is stored between visits; a session is a session. Export the CSV if you want your list to last.

Is this spaced repetition?

Only within a single sitting: missed cards come back before the session ends. Real spaced repetition schedules reviews across days and needs an app that can store your history.
