Private iPhone photo storage cleanup planner

Measure the gap between current and target free space. This page never guesses average file size, duplicate rate or how much a cleanup will recover.

No photos, files or metadataNo iCloud or device accessNo deletion or classificationNo recoverable-space prediction

Calculate a known storage gap

Copy numbers you can already see in Settings. Photos storage is reported separately and is never treated as deletable or recoverable.

Gap formula: max(0, target free GB − current free GB). Values use the same GB unit you enter. The result is not a prediction of what Photos or PicClear can recover.

Reported Photos storage is context only. Some items may be important, synced, optimized, shared, edited or already represented differently on device.

Reversible review plan:

Safety-first cleanup sequence

  1. Confirm current free space and Photos storage in Settings > General > iPhone Storage.
  2. Verify an independent, openable copy of irreplaceable originals before permanent deletion.
  3. Check iCloud Photos sync status and remember changes can propagate across devices.
  4. Review one category in a small batch; never treat a category as proof an item is disposable.
  5. Recheck Recently Deleted and device storage before deciding on another batch.

What this planner cannot know

It cannot read your Photos library, storage, iCloud, albums, files, metadata, favorites, duplicates, blur, video sizes or deletion results. It never identifies anything as safe to delete and cannot predict recovered capacity.

Official Apple steps before any optional cleaner

Apple documents iPhone Storage, iCloud Photos synchronization and optimization, the Duplicates collection, and the 30-day Recently Deleted window. Verify the current instructions for your iOS version.

Photo storage cleanup questions

Does this page scan my photo library?

No. It accepts only storage numbers and status choices you enter.

Does the gap equal space I can recover?

No. It is only target free space minus current free space, never an estimate of deletable media.

Is iCloud Photos an independent backup?

This planner does not treat sync alone as independent because changes and deletions can propagate across devices.

Does Recently Deleted free space immediately?

Do not assume it does. Apple documents a 30-day recovery window; measure storage after reviewed changes.

Want an optional on-device library review workflow?

PicClear Pro is optional. Its current App Store listing says scanning and previews are free, with a one-time unlock for cleaning; it groups duplicates, similar photos, screenshots, blurry photos, large videos and large photos on device for review. The listing says nothing is deleted until confirmation, Favorites can be protected, and the app works offline with no account, ads or tracking. Check the current listing for exact availability and features. This planner works without the app.
