Build a short practice set

Choose one step

Point to the first symbol, pause, say the second, then slide your finger toward the joined syllable.

Tap any card to reveal its joined syllable and familiar word.

Printing reveals every answer and removes the controls. Cut the cards apart or keep them on one sheet for finger-sliding practice.

Recognition and blending are different steps

A symbol flashcard asks “what is this?” These cards ask the next question: “how do these sounds become one syllable?” The generator uses a small curated set of familiar Mandarin examples, not every possible syllable.

A calm four-step routine

  1. Point to each visible symbol without asking for speed.
  2. Say the parts with a short pause between them.
  3. Move a finger across the card while shortening the pause.
  4. Reveal the joined syllable and connect it to the familiar word.

Keep it low-pressure

Use only a few cards at a time. Repeat, switch sets or stop whenever the child wants. This tool records no answers and cannot measure mastery, readiness or a learning difficulty.
