Privacy Policy

Your saves stay on this device. SaveTag reads a link's preview on device, directly from the site you saved. No account, no cloud, no ads, no tracking.

Last updated 2026-08-19

No account is required. We do not collect personal data. We do not use third party advertising. We do not use third party analytics. SaveTag contains no third-party SDKs, and your saved links stay in on-device storage.

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the SaveTag app for iPhone and iPad, together with its share extension, its Home Screen widget and its Siri shortcuts.

What we collect

Nothing. No account is required. We do not collect personal data. We do not use third party advertising. We do not use third party analytics. SaveTag contains no third-party SDKs, and we operate no server that could receive your data.

Where your saves live

Links, titles, descriptions, notes, tags, topics and settings stay in SaveTag's on-device storage, shared with the share extension and the widget through Apple's app group on the same device. Data entered in the app stays on the user's device unless the app clearly provides an export or sharing feature initiated by the user.

Link previews

When you save a link, SaveTag requests that page on your device, directly from the site you saved, to read its title and preview details. That website sees an ordinary request, much as it would from a browser, and its own privacy policy applies to it. No SaveTag data, identifier or account is attached, and the request goes nowhere else.

On-device tagging and search

Topic tagging and search ranking run locally, using Apple's NaturalLanguage framework and rule-based analysis of text that is already on your device. SaveTag uses no cloud AI service and no generative model, and no text is uploaded for processing.

Purchases

Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store, and it is included in Family Sharing. We never see or store your payment details; the app only learns from Apple whether the purchase exists, and records the unlock locally on your device. Restoring a purchase asks Apple, not us.

Export and sharing

The Markdown export and backup file is created on your device and goes wherever you send it through the iOS share sheet. Once a file leaves SaveTag it is handled by whichever app or service you chose, under that provider's own privacy policy.

Children

SaveTag collects no personal data from anyone, including children, and shows no third party advertising and no tracking. Saved links are whatever the person using the app chooses to save, and they stay on the device.

Your control, deletion and changes to this policy

You can delete any save at any time, or remove all local data by deleting the app; because we hold nothing, there is nothing on our side to delete. Any future change to network or data handling will be published here and in the App Store privacy details before release. Questions are always welcome at the address below.

Questions about privacy

Ask anything about how SaveTag handles your data. You will get a straight answer from the developer.
