Wordmate Privacy Policy
Effective July 10, 2026
Privacy at a glance
Wordmate does not require an account and does not include third-party advertising, analytics, tracking, or social-network SDKs. We do not sell personal data.
Data stored on your device
Your selected languages, topic, level, learning progress, daily goal, voice preference, and saved-word library are stored locally on your device. A limited copy of the words needed by the Home Screen widget is stored in Wordmate's private App Group container. Selected learning settings, saved words, and progress may also sync locally between your paired iPhone and Apple Watch through Apple's WatchConnectivity service. Wordmate does not send this data to a developer server.
Purchases and reviews
Wordmate is a paid App Store download with no in-app purchases or subscriptions. Apple processes the App Store purchase, and Wordmate does not receive your payment-card details. If you request an App Store rating, the request is handled by Apple's system interface. Apple's processing is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
Speech and network access
Pronunciation uses voices installed and provided by the operating system. Wordmate does not upload vocabulary, saved words, or learning progress to our servers. Core lessons work without creating an account.
Data retention and deletion
Local learning data remains on the device until you remove it or delete Wordmate. Deleting the app removes its local app data according to iOS behavior. App Store purchase history remains with Apple and may be used to redownload the paid app with the same Apple Account.
Children
Wordmate is a general vocabulary-learning app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users because the app has no account, advertising, analytics, or tracking system.
