Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 June 2026 · Applies to the Lumi Weather iOS app
Lumi Weather is designed for parents, guardians and caregivers to help them decide whether the weather is suitable for taking a child outdoors. It is not intended to be used by children on their own. We do not knowingly collect any information from children, and the app never asks for a child's name, birthday, photo or health data.
We do not collect, store, or transmit personal data to our servers. The app has no user accounts and no sign-in. Your settings — such as your selected language, your child's age group, temperature unit, saved places and reminder time — are stored only on your device using Apple's standard on-device storage, and are removed if you delete the app.
If you grant location permission, your location is used only to fetch local weather for your current position. You may also add or search for places manually instead of using your current location. Your location is processed on your device and sent only to Apple's weather service to retrieve the forecast. We do not store your location on any server we control, we do not sell location data, and we do not use location for advertising. You can change or revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings.
Lumi Weather uses Apple WeatherKit to provide weather information. Weather data is used to generate app features such as the kid-outing score, hourly and weekly forecasts, outfit suggestions and activity ideas. Weather forecasts are estimates and the suggestions in the app are general guidance for parents; they are not a guarantee of actual conditions.
If you enable the optional daily reminder, the app schedules a local notification on your device at the time you choose. These notifications are generated locally and are not sent through, or tracked by, any external server.
The app lets you create and share an image of today's summary or your outfit checklist using the standard iOS share sheet. Sharing only happens when you choose to, and the content goes wherever you send it. We do not receive a copy.
The optional one-time unlock is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). We do not receive or store your payment details. Purchases can be restored on a new device through your Apple account.
The app does not include third-party advertising. The app does not include third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. The only external service used is Apple WeatherKit, for weather data, which is governed by Apple's own privacy practices.
Because the app is for parents and caregivers, requires no account, and collects no personal data, it does not gather information from children. We do not request or store any child's name, date of birth, contacts, photos or health information.
Because no personal data leaves your device, there is no account to delete on our side. To remove all locally stored settings, simply delete the app. For any privacy question or request, contact us at hourstag.app@gmail.com and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can.
If the app's features change in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
